Throw Back: Our Story

Throw Back began around 2010, founded by Faye Kingston. My love for vintage clothing sparked the journey—starting with selling pieces from my own wardrobe. It quickly became clear there was a demand for unique, second-hand fashion.

While studying biochemistry at university in London, I continued selling from my halls of residence. The business grew fast—soon I was trading at vintage fairs across the UK, from Scotland to Wales, and setting up shop at summer festivals. Realising the potential, I made the bold decision to leave university and focus on Throw Back full-time.

Our first major breakthrough came with ASOS Marketplace, where we became a top 10 global vintage seller. It gave our brand incredible visibility and momentum.

Another turning point came when we won a pop-up shop opportunity at Midsummer Place. We ran the store rent-free for six weeks, which gave us the platform to extend the lease for another five months. Unfortunately, rising costs meant we had to close—but it was a valuable and formative experience. One I am extremely grateful for. 

Since then, we've continued to grow online and recently opened a brand-new store in Buckingham. Every item is personally handpicked by me, ensuring each piece is one-of-a-kind and full of character.
